Christopher BowerChristopher Bower

Founder/Chairman/CEO
Pacific Corporate Group Holdings

Mr. Bower, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Corporate Group Holdings, LLC, has been responsible for the overall management of Pacific Corporate Group since its inception in 1979. Mr. Bower has over thirty years of private equity experience and oversees PCG Capital Partners, LLC. Prior to founding PCG, Mr. Bower was with Arthur Young & Co. Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Bower received his BS from the University of Colorado and holds a JD from the University of San Diego. Mr. Bower is also a Certified Public Accountant.

David FannDavid Fann

President & Chief Executive Officer
PCG Asset Management

Mr. Fann manages the strategy and day-to-day business operations of PCG Asset Management, LLC, and is a member of the PCG AM Investment Committee. Mr. Fann has over 20 years of experience in the private equity industry and has invested in over 25 leveraged buyout, private equity, and venture capital investments as a lead investor or co-investor. In addition, Mr. Fann has invested in numerous buyout, private equity and venture funds. Prior to joining PCG AM, Mr. Fann was the Founder and General Partner of Inflection Equity Partners, a technology buyout firm focused on “small cap” technology companies. He was a Managing Director at the United States Trust Company/U.S. Trust of New York, and Founder and Co-Head of their Private Equity Division. He was also the President and Co-CEO of three affiliated business development companies. Mr. Fann served on U.S. Trust’s Strategy Review and Portfolio Policy Committees, which directed firm-wide investment strategy, policy and asset allocation for its clients’ accounts. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fann was a Vice President of Citicorp Venture Capital Ltd. (and various affiliated entities including Citibank/Citicorp NA, Court Square Capital Ltd., and Citibank/Citicorp Investments Inc.). Mr. Fann has served on the board of directors of eleven companies and has served as a board observer for seven companies. He has a BAS in Industrial Engineering and Economics from Stanford University.

Timothy KelleherTimothy Kelleher

Mr. Kelleher co-manages the Corporate Partners Fund and Co-investment activities. Prior to joining PCG, Mr. Kelleher was a Partner and Senior Vice President responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and monitoring leveraged buyouts and later-stage growth financings at Desai Capital Management Incorporated. Prior to that, Mr. Kelleher was an Associate with Entrecanales, Inc., where he identified, analyzed and negotiated later-stage growth capital and management buyout investment opportunities for a Madrid-based family. Before that, Mr. Kelleher was an Associate with L.F. Rothschild & Co. Incorporated where he executed leveraged finance for buyouts and mergers and acquisitions advisory assignments. Mr. Kelleher began his career in the audit practice of Arthur Young & Company. Mr. Kelleher received his Masters in Accounting from New York University and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Hamilton College. Mr. Kelleher currently sits on the Board of Directors of eCORP, Orbcomm Inc., Backyard Broadcasting, and Allied Resource Corporation.

Douglas Meltzer Douglas Meltzer

Mr. Meltzer co-manages PCG Capital Partners, including its Corporate Partners Fund and Co-Investment activities. Prior to this, Mr. Meltzer was a Principal at The Blackstone Group where he was involved in sourcing, executing, and managing private equity investments in a broad range of industries. Before that, Mr. Meltzer had similar responsibilities as a Vice President at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners. Mr. Meltzer also served as the Director of Strategic Development at EZ Buy, EZ Sell Recycler Inc. Mr. Meltzer received his BA from Cornell University and his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Mr. Meltzer has served on the Board of Directors of numerous private companies and currently sits on the Board of CMS Holdings Group, LLC. Mr. Meltzer also led PCG Capital Partners’ investments in AECOM (NYSE: ACM), an engineering firm, and Ocwen Structured Investments.

John Coughlin John Coughlin

Mr. Coughlin is involved in the Corporate Partners Fund and Co-investment activities. Prior to joining PCG, Mr. Coughlin was Chief Executive Officer of Kool Smiles Holding Corporation, a private equity backed national children’s retail/healthcare company. Before that, he was a Senior Partner with The Parthenon Group where he provided strategic and transaction advisory services to CEOs, boards and private equity groups. At Parthenon, he was the founder and managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office as well as a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to Parthenon, he was at Credit Suisse First Boston where he originated, structured and executed financings. Mr. Coughlin received his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and his Bachelor of Arts, Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of William & Mary. Mr. Coughlin currently sits on the Board of Directors of Allied Resource Corporation.

Steve Cowan Steve Cowan

Prior to PCGI, Mr. Cowan served at Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), most recently as a Director in the Investment Funds Department, where he was responsible for structuring new funds, designing and implementing the program’s asset allocation plans, selecting managers, and overseeing a large portion of the $3.5 billion investment funds program. Mr. Cowan also helped design OPIC’s groundbreaking capital markets insurance product. Prior to his tenure at OPIC, Mr. Cowan was an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson in Los Angeles and Milbank, Tweed, Hudley & McCloy in New York. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at American University’s Washington College of Law, and as an advisor to the governments of Colombia and Canada with respect to developing private equity programs. Mr. Cowan received his AB (magna cum laude and with honors) in Political Science and Development Studies from Brown University, a JD from Harvard Law School, and during college participated in the Yale-in-China program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Michelle DavidsonMichelle Davidson

Managing Director

Ms. Davidson manages the firm’s portfolio management and analytics activities, and is a member of the Firm’s Management and Investment Committees. She has more than twenty years of financial services experience, with the last seventeen years focused exclusively on private equity. She has returned to PCG AM, where she spent six years in the mid-1990s, and was strategically involved in the construction of CalPERS’s first private equity program. Since then, Ms. Davidson has been a consultant at a subsidiary of Deloitte & Touche, and most recently, spent six years at State Street Corp. where she developed and managed the consulting unit of The PrivateEdge Group. The primary function of the group was to provide independent, value-added investment consulting services to large institutional investors within the private equity and real estate asset classes. Earlier in her career, Ms. Davidson specialized in the trading and hedging of mortgage-backed securities, and also worked for a regional accounting firm. She has extensive experience in all aspects of private equity investment, portfolio management, legal terms and strategic program development, and sits on various partnership advisory committees. Ms. Davidson is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Business Administration degree from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Finance, where she graduated with honors.

Mark A. Nydam Mark A. Nydam

Mr. Nydam has over ten years of experience in private equity. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Mr. Nydam was a principal of Booz Allen Hamilton where he directed clean and new energy technology related to private equity engagements in the Middle East and led Booz Allen’s highly successful re-entry into the Kuwait market after a five year absence. Before that, Mr. Nydam founded Signal Hill Advisors, an advisory firm providing venture capital firms and their portfolio companies with investment identification, investment due diligence, business strategy, market assessment, product pricing and financial strategy advisory services. Prior to founding Signal Hill, he was a principal at L.E.K. Consulting and was responsible for providing top-tier venture capital firms, private equity firms, and corporate investors with investment strategy, investment identification and investment due diligence advisory services. Previously in his career, Mr. Nydam spent three years working as a Foreign Affairs Officer for the U.S. Department of State where he developed and managed a multi-million-dollar development assistance program that helped Middle Eastern and Asian governments attract western private investment into their oil and gas sectors. He also spent five years managing a natural resources investment advisory firm. Mr. Nydam has a BS and MS in Geology and Geophysics both from Yale University. He also holds an MA in International Relations and an MBA with honors from University of Chicago.

Jean-Noël Odier, CFA

Mr. Odier manages the PCG AM Singapore office and is a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. He brings experience at all levels of the private equity value chain: fund investment, direct investment and entrepreneurship. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Jean-Noël was Director, Key Client Business Development at BNP Paribas Private Bank, where he was in charge of developing the bank’s platform for family offices and ultra-high net-worth clients in Asia. Prior to that, Jean-Noël contributed to start Xytis Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a Swiss-based venture-backed company engaged in the in-licensing and development of drugs for central nervous systems disorders. As the company’s CFO, he was instrumental in the successful merger of Xytis Pharma with a US-based drug discovery company in 2005. Previously, Mr. Odier had been VP and Investment Manager at US Trust Private Equity, where he focused on direct and fund investments, based out of New York and Palo Alto. Jean-Noël had joined US Trust from Lombard Odier in Switzerland, where he also had been involved in reviewing private equity fund and direct investment opportunities. Mr. Odier holds a Masters degree from Stanford Graduate School of Business, a Masters in International Relations from the Graduate Institute for International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland and a Diploma from the Political Institute of Lyon, France. He is also a CFA Charterholder and speaks English, French and Arabic.

Stephen O’Neill Stephen O’Neill

Prior to PCGI, Mr. O’Neill was an investment banker with significant cross-border and international experience. As Managing Director of Battery Kemble LLC, an investment and advisory practice, he focused on creating, funding and providing strategic planning for new companies. Prior to Battery Kemble, Mr. O’Neill worked as a senior investment banker for UBS Warburg in New York (Head of the ‘Into US’ Equity Capital Markets business), Singapore (Managing Director of the Institutional Equities business), Hong Kong (Head of the Southeast Asia Corporate Finance business) and London. Mr. O’Neill has an AB (magna cum laude) in History from Brown University and an MBA (Arjay Miller Scholar) from Stanford University.

Gene PohrenGene Pohren

Managing Director

Prior to PCGI, Mr. Pohren served at OPIC. As a Director in the Investment Funds Department, he oversaw significant parts of OPIC’s $3.5 billion investment funds program and was instrumental in redesigning OPIC’s investment fund structure and fund manager evaluation processes. Before joining the Investment Funds Department, Mr. Pohren worked as a Manager in OPIC’s Project Finance Department where he structured direct financings throughout the emerging markets. In 2004, Mr. Pohren took a leave of absence to accept an assignment with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board to help design and implement an emerging market private equity investment plan. Prior to working at OPIC, Mr. Pohren was an Associate in corporate finance at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. Mr. Pohren earned a BS (with high distinction) in Business Administration from the University of Maine and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mr. Pohren is a returned Peace Corps volunteer.

Charles Toy

Prior to joining PCGI, Mr. Toy served at OPIC for seven years, where he was General Counsel and at different times managed the project finance and private equity programs, reorganizing and developing strategic plans for the two operating departments, each with exposure of over $3.5 billion in emerging markets. Before and after OPIC, Mr. Toy was a partner at two major international law firms, Kaye Scholer Fierman Hays & Handler, for which he opened Hong Kong and Beijing offices and was resident in Hong Kong for seven years, and Wilmer Cutler & Pickering in Washington. He represented clients investing and starting new businesses or operations throughout Asia and around the world. Mr. Toy has taught on the subject of foreign direct investment as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University. He earned a BA (with honors) from Harvard College and a JD from Harvard Law School. Mr. Toy speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.

Tom BernhardtTom Bernhardt, CFA

Mr. Bernhardt manages the day-to-day business of the research team and leads the identification, analysis, due diligence and selection of private market investments. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Mr. Bernhardt worked as a Senior Research Analyst at CTC Consulting, Inc. where he shared lead responsibilities with respect to sourcing deals across the private markets spectrum (buyouts, growth capital, venture, real estate, energy, resources, secondaries, distressed, mezzanine, fund-of-funds, etc) and was the sole lead for the real estate, energy, real assets, and Asian sectors. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, receiving a BBA in Accounting and Finance, and is a CFA charterholder.

Kara KingKara King

Ms. King manages the Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting team and has been with the Firm for ten years. She is also a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors and Investment Committee. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Ms. King was a retirement plan consultant with U.S. Pension Services and was responsible for plan design, administration and IRS required compliance. She also held a similar position with Watson & Wyatt. For the past ten years, Ms. King has specialized in the monitoring and analysis of private equity portfolios, valuation guidelines, GIPS standards and client-focused reporting and auditing functions. Ms. King received her Master’s degree in Finance from San Diego State University, and a BS from Eastern Illinois University where she studied Business Finance and Economics.

Mike KremsMike Krems, CFA

Mr. Krems leads the identification, analysis, due diligence and selection of private market investments. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Mr. Krems worked as an analyst with Smith Breeden Associates, a fixed income money manager with approximately $13 billion under management during his time with the firm. While there, Mr. Krems worked on the corporate bond trading desk, focusing on the energy and utilities industry sectors, as well as traded government bonds. Prior to Smith Breeden, Mr. Krems worked in the investment banking division of Prudential Securities. Mr. Krems received his Bachelors of Science degree from Duke University, and is a CFA charterholder. Mr. Krems also was the recipient of the Ford Foundation grant for international research, through which he studied macroeconomic issues in South Africa.

Thomas Martin Thomas Martin

Mr. Martin leads the identification, analysis, due diligence and selection of private market investments. Prior to joining PCG in 2002, Mr. Martin was a Vice President at Laffer Associates, a boutique investment research and consulting firm where he was responsible for producing investment research and analysis for a global client base of institutional investors. Mr. Martin received a Master’s of International Affairs from the University of California San Diego, a Master of Science in International Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University. Mr. Martin also attended special educational programs at the London School of Economics and Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.

Brandon Park

Mr. Park leads the identification, analysis, due diligence, and selection of private market investments. Mr. Park joined PCG Asset Management from Rho Capital Partners in New York, a $2 billion diversified private equity firm where he focused on investing in buyout and venture capital funds in the U.S. and Western Europe. Prior to that, he was at MMC Capital, the private equity arm of Marsh & McLennan Companies with over $2 billion of committed capital, where he focused on investment opportunities in the information technology, enterprise software, and business services companies. Before that, he was an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Group where he was involved in executing and advising initial public offerings, private placements and M&A in the information technology and services sectors. Mr. Park began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

David PerskieDavid Perskie

Mr. Perskie is involved in the Corporate Partners Fund and Co-investment activities. Prior to joining PCG, Mr. Perskie was a Vice President in the Consumer & Retail Group at Gryphon Investors, where he was involved in the sourcing, evaluation, execution and monitoring of leveraged buyout transactions in a variety of industries. Before that, Mr. Perskie was at American Industrial Partners, where he evaluated leveraged buyout opportunities within the industrial manufacturing landscape. Mr. Perskie began his career at Interlaken Capital, where he executed growth equity and leveraged buyout investments. Mr. Perskie received his Bachelor of Science in Economics, cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of eCORP and the Acquisition Committee of CMS Holdings Group, LLC.

Jennifer Faust

Vice President

Prior to joining PCGI, Ms. Faust served at OPIC for over five years, most recently as a Senior Investment Officer in the Investment Funds Department. In that role she was responsible for the monitoring and credit review of OPIC’s private equity portfolio of over 40 private equity funds with roughly $3.5 billion in emerging market commitments over a wide variety of sectors and regions. She was also responsible for the direct relationship and management of numerous emerging market private equity funds. Prior to OPIC, she was an Equity Analyst for SG Cowen in London where she covered a wide range of European equities. Ms. Faust holds a Masters in European Studies from the London School of Economics and a BA (cum laude) from Furman University. Ms. Faust speaks German.

Mr. Kirsten manages the Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting Group. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Nico spent a combined eight years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, Texas, and Pretoria, South Africa. In Dallas he was an audit manager and focused on the financial statement audit of hedge funds and other alternative investment vehicles. Most recently, he was a Fund Controller at Archon Group, a Goldman Sachs company, and reported to the Merchant Bank division of Goldman Sachs. At Archon he was responsible for the financial reporting of private equity and mezzanine debt funds. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Pretoria and his Honors Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Africa. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Kenn LeeKenn Lee

Mr. Lee leads the identification, analysis, due diligence, and selection of private market investments. Before joining PCG Asset Management, he established, grew and ultimately sold a retail-focused business. Prior to that, he was part of the investment teams at middle market private equity investment firm Thoma Cressey Equity Partners (now Cressey & Co. and Thoma Bravo) and another Southern California-based private equity firm. His private equity efforts focused on originating and executing growth and consolidation-centered private equity investments in various industries including education, business services, energy and value-added manufacturing. Prior to his direct investment experience, he was an investment banker with Dain Rauscher Wessels (now RBC Capital Markets), where he was involved in public and private equity and debt financings and corporate mergers and acquisitions across a broad range of industries, and has also worked as an operations analyst at Dell Computer. He has a BBA in Finance and Risk Management from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jasandra NykerJasandra Nyker

Ms. Nyker leads the identification, analysis, due diligence, and selection of venture capital and private equity investments, specifically for the Clean Energy and Technology sector. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Ms. Nyker worked for Booz Allen Hamilton in London, where she focused on alternative energy and private equity related projects. A significant portion of her time was spent establishing an alternative energy fund for one of the leading national oil companies in the Middle East, for which she subsequently led multiple alternative energy investments, in addition to providing clean technology and renewable energy investment strategy advice to leading investment banks and oil companies. Before that, she worked in corporate finance at Lehman Brothers. She also spent five years with Brait Private Equity in South Africa where she was involved in direct investment management, due diligence, and investment evaluation. She has been involved in investment management since 1997 and has extensive knowledge in international investments, specifically in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Ms. Nyker holds an MBA from the London Business School, where she was a Merrill Lynch Scholar, and a Business Science degree in Finance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Sundeep RanaSundeep Rana

Mr. Rana leads the identification, analysis, due diligence, and selection of private equity market investments. He is also involved in direct firm wide strategic initiatives. Prior to PCG Asset Management, Mr. Rana was an Analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York where he focused on company liquidity, capital, and M&A advisory. Prior to that, he worked in Morgan Stanley’s Technology Investment Banking Group in Menlo Park. Mr. Rana also worked as a Financial Analyst at Coca-Cola in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. He was awarded a UNCF Corporate Scholarship, and was also appointed a Ford Motor Company Research Fellow to conduct economic research at the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania. Mr. Rana graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Joseph Wharton Scholar.

Mike TaylorMike Taylor

Mr. Taylor assists in the firm’s portfolio management and client service activities. Prior to joining PCG Asset Management, Mr. Taylor was a Vice President at Advent Capital, a New York-based hedge fund, where he specialized in alternative investments. Prior to that, he worked in Sales at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Taylor earned his MBA from Duke University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Northeastern University.

Robert D. ConcaRobert D. Conca

Senior Vice President Compliance and Legal Affairs

Mr. Conca manages the firm’s internal legal and compliance functions. Prior to joining PCG, Mr. Conca was Legal Director and Chief Operating Officer at Ebb Services Corp., a financial services company located in San Francisco. He also served as an associate attorney at Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger where he handled corporate litigation on behalf of financial institutions. Mr. Conca’s diverse professional experience also includes roles in finance and investor relations at financial services companies. Mr. Conca is a member of the State Bar of California. He received his JD from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and his BA degree from the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with honors.

Quyen Dao-HaddockQuyen Dao-Haddock

Ms. Dao-Haddock assists in PCG’s finance and accounting functions. Prior to joining PCG, Ms. Dao-Haddock was an audit manager in the San Diego office of KPMG LLP for seven years, where she was responsible for managing audits of numerous public and private entities within San Diego County. Before joining KPMG LLP, Ms. Dao-Haddock was a budget analyst at the San Diego County Water Authority. Ms. Dao-Haddock is a Certified Public Accountant and has a BS in Business Administration, Accounting, from San Diego State University.

Brian RobertsonBrian Robertson

IT Manager

Mr. Robertson oversees the firms Information Technology operations. Prior to joining PCG, Mr. Robertson was a network administrator for University Mechanical, a subsidiary of the Emcor Group. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Santee School District Technology Committee and holds industry certifications from Microsoft and Cisco.
